Gauges...

Have you ever noticed that the speedometer on the S13 goes only up to 115mph.. I thought was kinda slow for a top end speed. I know the KA and SR could go way faster.. but how would we know? Is there a replacable clusters so that it achieves more than 115. I once saw a S13 with a regualar tach but underneath had a digital counter for mph... My friend suggested to get the JDM cluster which reads in km/h. I dunno thanks for the answers.. catch you sideways

Save your money. Your car has a speed limiter to 112-115 depending on wheel size.

Unless you can cut the speed/rev limiter its pointless to get a better speedo.

the two most common solutions that come to mind are:

1. reprogramming the ECU, or
2. cutting the vehicle speed sensor wire that runs to the ECU (there are a few howto's on the web for this)

Here is a good how to
http://**********/faq/index.html then go to speed/rev limiter removal or something. a Good step by step and other ways you can do it. Its not actually "cutting" the limiters...but more of just unplugging them

Even @ the track your 1/4 won't put you past 115, and doing that on a highway isn't smart. That being said, I achieve 134mph in my s13. There are 190mph gauges out there, you just have to know where to look. You'll have to disable the governer like they said, then you're set.

cars don't need to be turbo'd to go a certain speed.

$175? What the hell? $55 for a ****ing face? This rock-heads find out that you like the 240 and want to charge you a arm and a ****ing leg for something so small. I'll spend that $200 on shocks or a CAI or many other things. (-$20 if you give them the stock one)

ummm, you do realize that its not a "face" like a gauge overlay, but rather the actual speedometer unit, because if it was just a face then when you were going 100mph it would say you were going 180, and that wouldnt be true.
