ok, 4-2-1 headers are headers that go from 4 "tubes" down to 2, and then 1. and 4 into 1 headers are obviously 4 tubes that go into one. hope this helped

the previous post explained it very well. but if your planing on buying one for a 240 i'd like to add that a 4-2-1 is what you should get.
