-if your engine works like sh*t.
-you cant go over about 3000 RPMs
-huge power loss
-sudden stalling
-takes a long time to start the engine
-usually check engine light is on

it does run like sh*t,
it can't go over 2500rpms,
stalls if you don't keep your foot in it,
and the check engine light is on.

couldn't this mean the timing is off too? just wondering.

its your MAF.
timing wont do all that bad stuff.

but before i would go out and buy a new MAF, i would check the plug that its right on the sensor. even if it looks plugged, make sure its in ALL THE WAY. sometimes, friends like to joke around, and unplug it. bad bad friends.

so check all the plugs first. if errything is aiiit, buy a new MAF, replace it, drive it like you stole it.

i know the dealership has it 100% but its gonna cost ya a bit.

so before you go there, check all those little stores like NAPA, PEP BOYS, AUTO ZONE, ADVANCED AUTO PARTS....

but before you even check that, please check the plug first. someone did a prank on me and disconnected the MAF sensor plug. and you couldnt even tell, cause it was like removed just little bit, it was still on but it didnt have the connection. so i almost but the freakin MAF, but they told me about it.
so do that first.

oh i will, don't worry. it isn't like i am made out of money. I am just going to put everything back together tomorrow, because i had started a break down of the motor to check the timing. It started raining though, so i didn't get too far.

you dont have to brake down the motor to chec/adjust the timing.

dude, i dont know how you call this thing but follow the plug wires from the spark plug to this thingy. i forgot how you call it shoot. but its gonna have 5 wires coming our of it and it sits on the right side of the valve cover.

its gonna have 2 bolts. if you unscrew them to a point where you can move that whole thing... thats how you undjust you timing.
start the engine, let it idle (is you fix the MAF problem) and play with the timing. the best setting is if you live it in the middle (theres a scale next to the bolts that you unscrewed).

if i am wrong and you are tolkin about the other timing.. then tell me that.

i am talking abotu if the timing chain has jumped a tooth. then you would have to check the chain itself. lossen it and adjust it accordingly....and you are tlaking about the distributor no?
