Help!!!

okay as some of you guys already know am new to the 240's world... but its weird sometimes when i try to red line my 240 as soon as it red lines ones i can't keep on reving it, the rpms will just drop... but sometimes it will let me red line a couple of times its weird... and when i try to get sideways it wont, it just boggs out... i was thinkin that the reason my car doesnt get sydeways might have to do with the clutch going out???... am not sure but i dont think the clutch has nothing to do with the car not being able to redline??? or is there any sensors that might not let the car do some of this stuff??? can some please help me thanks...

Oh boy. Where to start, where to start.

When it redlines, the rev limiter kicks in. Thats so the engine doesnt blow up. Why in the hell would you want to rev past the redline? What kind of drop in RPM's here are we talkin about? A 500rpm drop is normal to keep your engine from exploding. The redline is there for a reason. Secondly, it takes skill to get sideways. The car doesnt just do it on its own when you gun it and turn. It takes practice. You shouldnt be at redline when you're trying to drift, the power is at like 5000 rpms. KAs are dead at redline. By the way, I assume your car is a manual. Put the car in 3rd gear and gun it. If your clutch is good the car will die. If the clutch is slipping the car will rev.

How much power are you planning on making? If you're not going turbo or making huge modifications you might be better off with a stage 1, it's more streetable. Have you read about disabling your clutch damper? If not do a search on it and read up on it.

I see a blown engine in your future... First off if your clutch is going dont beat it so bad, your gonna get stranded and need a tow. As for the first part, sounds liek you were bouncing off the Rev limiter.

You can't be serious. Do you not understand the concept of redline? You might be new to the "240 world" but it seems like you're new to cars in general, which leads me to believe that it's your first car and that you would end up killing yourself trying to get "sydeways" if your clutch did in fact work properly.

well, as they said, try and stay away from the redline, thats a truck motor, not exactly rev happy, atleast you did not find out the hard way right? as for the clutch dont over kill if you dont need it. I know some people just like to say they have stage 2,3, 999, etc clutches cause it sounds cool, but yeah, you know how that goes.
