Ok so this has probably been asked a grip but here I go

i have a 91 s13 with the hud the gauge lighting has gone out actually its been out. sometimes when i hit a bump it comes back on for a few seconds the out again. mostly it stays off.

if anyones come across this and fixed it i would appreaciate the help.

Since you said that it goes on and off intermittently, it's still working - wiring harness might be loose. check connections.

Never looked at one in my life before, but I know with electronics occasionally cold solder joints detach. But usually stay close enough so that a bump will fix the problem. I've seen this in car cd player, amplifiers, tv, etc.

this may sound elementary, but check the fuses for the instrument panel. Sometimes fuses look good, but they're so old that something gets weird in them; I had a problem similar to yours on my last car, and I replaced the fuse (which wasn't broken) with a new fuse of the same rating and it fixed the problem

well... i've been stuck with my nissan with no digi cluster and no HUD... niether have worked... and i've had my car for about 8 months... i don't even have dash lights.. when i first got her i had some lights that flickered.... and at that time i also had cruise controle.. cruise went out at the same time i lost dash lights all together.... every fuse is new, and i've pulled my dash lights out and checked it inside and out with a wire tester.. everything works, all bulbs r good... but nothing...

i know this is u'r thread.. but if u find out any info u wanna keep me informed.. it's annoying goin by the RPM's...
