Help guys......

-I recently screwed myself in the ***. No lube. Story: MAX coilovers were installed. I slammmmmmmmmed the front as low as the fronts would go with flipped brackets. I forgot about this little thing under my fender called my lower wiring harness. Going to a local car meet. Wipers start going crazy. Me = panic mode. Pulled my car in the parking lot and parked. Went to leave and started my car......... 5 seconds later my wipers go off (they were turned off to begin with) and my dash lights flicker. Then there was a fat puff of smoke that came out right under my gauge cluster. Checked all my fuses. They are all fine. Car takes a while to start and then wont idle. It's sitting in a parking lot right now and i'm about to start tipping my handle of Captain Morgan to make the pain go away. Help me out brothers.......

Just patch up the wires in the harness (solder in some wires to reconnect the wiring, wrap it good and tuck it behind the fender or something) or get a new harness...drink the captain first though and do the wires tomorrow or something

you could have possibly ruined all your wiring. i know it's not what you want to hear but that's a possibility. the fact that the wipes are on when they should be off tells me that they could be getting power from another source other than intended for the wiperes. because of what happened you're better off assuming all the wires are ruined and checking them to make sure they are not. a continuity tester will come in handy along with soldering gun and maybe some wire.

its fryed bro... no doubt... on the passenger side, that harness is actually deatachable... take it off and see.... but the odds are the wheel rubbed on it and fused it all together.. no good.... make sure your driver side is ok..if not you will be replacing a body harness... i have done that to a car before because of that same reason... it only took 1 whole day but still

-You mean the whole pass. side is fried, or the ENTIRE wiring harness is fried? Could it have ruined the ECU / Harness, or my relays? Also it was seriously not a very big puff of smoke and then i yanked my keys out. I've seen wire burn when i tried to bypass the safety on a flip-out DVD player, so it would play when driving, and it was crazy smoke.

-Edit: My tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals still work. Dosen't that mean that some of the harness is still intact?

-Can i get the body harness out of a single-cam, or only a twin cam?

-well i started patching up my harness today. Soldered in new pieces of wire. I was in the process of taking my dash off and found the burnt piece of wire. It just happens to be on the back of the guage cluster. One of the copper filament on the back of the cluster burned, the ground "wire" for the e-brake warning light. I couldn't find any other burned wires and this explains why the smoke came out from behind the cluster, instaed of out by where the windshead de-fogger vents are. pics tomorrow. Too dark right now.

-sweet found it. Done. My last question is going to be, where should i "tuck" the harness away? Should I just ziptie it close to the top? Re-locate to the inside of the fender?

um there is somewhat of a lip on the chassis. Rip away all of the stock zipties and pull that thing up as far as you can over the lip, ziptie it there. This is gonna make the fender harder to put on. I got a hammer and beat my harness flat. lol
