HELP!!! With Starter

I just bought a JDM engine for my 89 nissan 240sx.. i got the engine bolted down and everything then i went to put the starter from my old engine into this new JDM engine and the starter is to big!! The new block has another section on it that the starter goes through. Can someone tell me if i need to buy a new starter or do they make a nose cone replacment?

umm, by JDM do you mean sr20det? or what... because i'm pretty sure the starter from your old engine (assuming it's a ka24e) isn't going to fit... you'll most likely have to find someone parting out an sr20det or order a new starter.. you might wanna check and see if a starter from an (sentra se-r, nx2000, ect..) sr20de would fit...

no i dont have the Turbo (sr20det). It's the black top. not a red top. I have no idea why this starter wont fit. I found a starter online that is suppose to work from a 1989-98 and it looks like the same deal as the one i have.. But this Starter just wont fit. Its to big

of course it doesn't fit, it's for a different motor... you have to get a starter from a JDM RWD SR20DE...

They have starters from FWD SR20DE's here for $40.. don't know if they'll fit though, you'll have to search.

sr20det is turbo... sr20de isn't... Which motor do you have?

20 = 2.0 Liter
D = Dual Cam
E = Electronic Injection
T = Turbo

I'm confused. If it's 2.4L then it's the KA24de which isn't JDM... It's USDM and came in 91+ 240sx's ... What year car did your engine come out of?

its suppose to have came out of a 89 nissan 240sx! I got the engine from www.asapmotors.com they are closed right now so i cant tell for sure.. its suppose to be a JDM.. its not a turbo tho. It looks a little diffrent then the engine that was in my car.. the motor mounts are diffrent and this engine looks a little newer

Well if it's the same engine that was in your car the starter should be the same... anyway you can get a picture?
