So for some reason my hood wont stay down?? I havent had a free minute to really look at it, but when i drive or hit a bump it will pop up i guess you could say about an inch or two and stay there. There isnt any tension with my hood latch inside the car, it just pulls back and pushes forward easier than it should. When the hood pops up i can just give it a hard push shut near the front and it acts like it will stay down, but it comes back up shortly into any driving i do. When i try to pull up on it, when its popped up those couple inches, it almost feels like its still being held in place, so i guess its not gonna fly up in my face or anything while im driving but still. wtf. Can anyone help direct me where to look or what to do to fix this.

Theres a little notch on the hood latch's cable that, when it comes out of place, releases the tension on the cable. I had this problem when I couldn't get mine to pop open. Check that. Also check the bolts and make sure that it's secure and hasn't moved out of place.

 

yea what he said.. also check for bends in the mechnism. i need a new one from the junk yard becuase the latch was bent somehow
