I would like to know how much you guys paid for ur insurance or ur parents paid for insurance when u first got the car? Seeing how the 240sx is considered a sports car insurance would be high..... cuz i'm thinkin bout getting a 95 240sx SE Burgundy when i turn 17

Well I can let you know as soon as I get put on the insurance. Im 16 BTW. Right now, the car is under my dads name and he pays $74 for full coverage with a $500 deductible. In about 2 weeks im going to be added on as a "part-time" driver (heh yea right) and it will probably go up a good bit. However thats the way to go, have the car under your parents name with you as the part time driver.

EDIT: heh almost forgot its a 96 base model.

depends where you are in tx dude
you can check it on progressive's website, they have a calculator. expect it to be pretty high, but not as bad as having a camaro- b/c it's older, and has a smaller engine, and is not cherry red. but young teenage guys are the most expensive to insure.
Liability is cheap... but full coverage will save your a$$ when something happens. there should be an agent that's willing to talk to you in a language you understand (not legalese) and get you what you need. i'm not gonna prop any real companies. but use that website for rough ideas & talk to ppl aside from us silly web-folk

my insurance company told me that the 240sx is insured under "passenger car" rates, not "sports car" rates... but thats what they told me

Only because I was also in the market for an FC3S and they said for sure that the 7 would be "sports car" because of the turbo.

age and record baby, it's all about age and record (well, unless you buy a Lambo or something and you live in the Bronx)

Age, location, model, driving record, company, coverage (full or liability) all play into the insurance cost. Just take 15 minutes and call your insurance company for an accurate quote.

when i first started driving when i was 16 liability was about 1000-1100 a year, with a $1000 deductable, 98 s14 107,000 miles, under my dad as a full time driver of the car, couldnt be part time cuz we had 5 cars for a family of 5, so part time is obviously a straight out lie, state farm insurance, not cheap, but then again i barely got my license, im a guy(supposely guys are agressive drivers?? ), i was under 18, i live in los angeles, and its a sports car, cant really get worse then that, except having points and accidents on my record

i do believe 240 are in the sports car class, i heard its classified about the same as a mustang GT

insurance sucks! well the cost at least...
