how to put the bars back on the trunk

I got a 95 s14. need help putting new bars back on. the ones under the rear deck that push up the trunk lid. i cant get them on now that i took my old ones off. anyone got any tips?

keep them off and just lift your trunk up when you open it - i'm sure someone will think thats cool- plus saves weight.
