whats that little air filter to the right of the valve cover?

i saw an s13 fb with an SR at the street races last night. it was pretty sweet. he kept up with a 300zx. he paid a lot tho, cuz he had it installed by a shop.

 

It looks like its nothing more then a little breather filter. Maybe its for the AIV valve, not sure what it does. I know from looking at the KA that the S13 had this little breather filter, while the S14 didn't.

 

The info on the engine swap isn't even up on the first link and that's what i want to see...by the way whose turn is it to buy the beer?

 

nah, thats just a breather filter...that location stock would have a hose that would feed back into the intake before the turbo....some people use a catch tank so the oil bypass wont go into the turbo

 

btw, is that a 510 or something? its no 240 : )
