i got my 240sx what should i look for
i just purchased a 1995 240sx with 82k miles for 6400 dollars... its an SE so it came with a spoiler and sunroof... abs brakes werent standard on SE were they... well all i know is that i have abs brakes because he had the from when he bought the car... what i wanted to know was does it have an lsd... i read that if it has abs then it has an lsd and i dont believe that because both were optional on 240sxs can i figure out if i have a lsd by just looking at the vin or looking at the bottom of the car or what... what are some other things that i should take concern for.... hijynx... santiago... i ll try calling you man but keep me informed
ok ... i found few tiny problems that arent a big deal but kind of annoy me... the trunk wont open with a key ... it will only open from the little **** by the driver seat... is this a common problem... and the sunroof... is just a sunroof... i cant like cover it... it has some shades made out of clothing or osmething .... i didnt know 240sx were like that.... are they all like that or some have moonroofs that can be closed...hmmm what else.... car shakes when its being ignited and turned off... but idle is fine... the guy said i need to replace the front seal cause it drops a lil bit of oil ... he gave me a shops estimate and it was about 150 bucks... anyone know more about this problem.... and cup holders!!! just my luck... my acura legend didnt have any and this 240sx doesnt have any.... any solutions... i like to drink and drive hahaah jk but cupholders would be good...

for the lsd question couldnt you just spin your tires and find out the easy way ... oh and my trunk will not open with a key either but some of my friends will... so im not real sure but i do have that problem.
Quite a lot of questions
First off, sounds like you got a pretty good buy! Your problems are very minimal. To check if you have a LSD, if you run a search i have answered a question just like yours. IIRC, all 240sx's with sunroofs dont have a cover for it. Could be wrong though. For cup holders, try ebay or some people have done mods to their cars for one. Search and you can find

hey... for the trunk not opening with the key problem..... do you know how long ur problem has existed for ur car... i might just be missing a piece or something... the guy told me it was 100 bucks to fix it... 100 bucks just to open the trunk with ur keys ... haha i dont know about that deal... i m sure its a very small problem and can be fixed for 15 dollars max... by the way... i got new brake pads(rear only)... tension rods(front or rear not sure) and new tires, and the paint is in excelent condition minus the bumper which could have been better oh well i m happy... too bad its an auto tho...i wanted a manual.... any suggestions on whether i should convert to manual then swap the engine later or just keep the auto and swap the engine later

stupid auto.... maybe its not the fact that it is a auto but whatever it is... i dont like it... i got smoked by a 4 runner a lil over 1 car length... is the KA really that slow or is it my car or what.... oh yea since mines an auto.... overdrive on or off ... what is better.... it seems to me that with overdrive off it doesnt shift to the next gear as soon as it does with overdrive on. i dont kno wwhat do you guys think... i was looking at those 30 dollar air intakes... worth it or not... i know i get what i pay for but would it be better than the stock setup... it says it saves weight but i know its not that much weight ... so what do you guys think

like hte others said, get one of those cheap intakes and replace the filter with a K&N, and does your car feel sluggish? or like when your goin 60 it feels like your going 40? cause i have the same problem, i remember someone telling me it has to do with the vacuum not sucking in the air or something....

First off the motor was still very strong so probably the compression is still good...you should check that (get a test). Also I replaced the sparks, fuel filter, put in a stock K&N (old one had mold on it). I haven't got it timed yet but I am smoking hatches and accords with the KA JUST STOCK!!! Oh yea mines a stick too maybe thats why...with timing adjusted and a CAI with some headers I bet you can get 20 hp more.
And my key won't work in the trunk either I thought i was alone on that one!!

yea i am going to get a cai from ebay for like 40 bucks... but as far the spark plugs go they were changed about 8k miles ago... and the air filter was changed like 5k miles ago but i check and it was dirty... i was wondering if this was normal or i need to replace it...as far as the timing goes... i dont think it has even been done... but what i am going to do for sure is get a 300zx turbo fuel filter... they say it increases flow but i m sure i wont be able to feel the difference... any how... what do you think i should do about the plugs and the filter... oh yea my front crank shaft seal is leaking... but i m gonna get that fixed by a mechanic.. how much do you estimate it should cost...??? thanx in advance

overdrive off would save u gas price with gas price this high u want it off but it really doesnt make a real big difference basically overdrive is used to tow things and go up hills a lot easier other than that u dont need it hope it helps a lil bit
