i got a problem and need help

when i'm in neutral my RPMs are super low and after downshifting putting it in neutral or putting the clutch in the RPMs drop real low and then shake a bit and raise up when at a dead stop... i think it might be my old $hitty fuel filter since the car has 130k on it and the filter probablly hasnt been replaced, could that be the problem or could it be something else? i mean it shouldnt be that much to replace and i can do it myself it'll be like 20-40 bucks so i mean its not a huge exspence i just dont want to blow the money on it if i dont need too... got to save for my shocks and exhaust before winter...

It's a normal problem with 240s. Just change the fuel filter. 11 bucks at Kragen for a Z32 fuel filter. Easy installation.

they say the 96' 300zx fuel filter will fit most 240's like stock and since it's bigger though a little more expensive it's a better deal cause it may free up some resticted power... is that true can i but the 96 300zx fuel filter and drop it in my 95 240sx?

Actually the Z32 fuel filter should be cheaper. And yeah,m depressurize the fuel system. You don't want fuel squirting all over the place. You don't want fuel landing on your engine and heating up and going boom. A little bit of gas wasted is nothing compared to having a fire in your engine bay.

NO NO NO, it's in the engine bay, right as in the passenger side of the vehicle, it looks alot like the one you've got in the box, except it has two fuel lines on it. One running down and back towards the tank, the other runs to the fuel rail.
