Unhappy IDing 240s

i want 2 purchase a 240sx. I have no idea which 240s are which in terms of year, model, specs, generation, etc. so im trying to find some info on that. which one is the one with the pop-up headlights? bcuz theres one of those around my old highschool, and i heard it doesnt have an engine and has been sitting there for a while. i was really dedicated to getting my honda by the end of the summer, but i would take a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe over a honda any day. i figure without an engine, it cant be worth much...so how much do you guys think i could get it for? its the same popup headlight one w/ a manual tranny. i want turbo, so i plan 2 get a S14 SR20DET, i think. seems like a good tradeoff between price and performance to me.

89-90 is the "pignose (front bumper has two vents near the hood)" and has pop-ups, single cam motor
91-94 is pop-ups, dual cam motor
s14 is the new body style

You always want to be able to physically see the car before you buy it. Get to look around and see what's good, bad, etc. That way you can decide if you can handle what needs done and if it's up to your standards. If there is a car around you that you could go see then yes, I would go for it. Check on here, people sell them all the time.

Yeah, all 94s are auto drop tops. If you want a droppy, you can always swap a manual into it...it's very easy I did it to my 240.

No, only the 94's. If you want a dual cam s13 (s13 is the popup 240sx)....get a 91-93, if you want single cam, it's the 89-90.

the engine and the tranny would probably cost 2500 to 4000, somewhere around there. to get it installed would probably be another 1000 mabey. you could get an s13 sr20det for a little cheaper.

for Hondas, B20s are one of the hottest engines 2 swap, compared to the B16 and B18s, cuz they're bigger and have more torque...anyways...B20s are cheap as **** in Canada...are SR20s plentiful in Canada as well?

does it matter? he already gave you your price.

Search around man.

why not just get a KA, rebuild it, and boost it? Its cheaper than an SR, you'll have a brand new engine, and bragging right when you beat the guys who do have the SR.
