If you could start with a blank slate...
Yes, very nicely put!! Thank you both StanBo and l2aine - Much appreciated!
Because of the both of you, I'm leaning towards the S13 hatchback (love the wheel transport and shock adjustment qualities) - and I had previously been focused on an S14 for no good reason

And the shock adjustment quality is the ability to adjust the setting on the shocks. Go Fastback, lol. Very roomy in the back. you can sleep back there, I plan on doing that one of these days just because.

BTW coisin came over today with his new Scion tC.. that sucker has LOTS OF ROOM jeez...
I'm about to get an S14 because airbags spared my face from impacting with the steering wheel a few years ago. With any luck they won't have to again but it's nice to have them.
Not to mention cupholders...can't live without them. I likes to get my drink on.

No, not adjusting the stock ones. Once you upgrade to adjustable shocks, it' easy to get in there and adjust them

Besides, when it's "test and tune" I pop the rear speaker cover off my S14 and without getting out of the car I can just recline the drivers seat, slide my butt up about a foot or 2, and have enough reach to change the dampening of the rears since the dampening adjustment is higher up... if I remember correctly, the S13 rear damper mounting area is lower, behind the rear seat, near the floor.
correct me if I'm wrong.
Dang... Finding one of these here in San Diego is difficult. Each one I've called on has been sold or otherwise spoken for (I'm on 2 if my buyer bails lists). Looks like this may be a nice long fight - Unless of course I want to give in and get a Dime_a_dozen_Miata
If only I could find a 2002tii - they are just too cool!
