im thinking about a GT-R

well i was looking at a few places where i can buy a first gen Hakosuka GT-R in mint condition and im really considering it. it will be US Street legal because it is over 25years old.

i found a 71 GT-R in silver in mint condition the guy wants $23,000 for it i might consider it instead of a sti.

The pictures make it look like a toy model... is this for real? If so, how will it pass dock inspection and importation inspection? I think theres still a few other guidelines you must follow to get it in the states.

The thing is, I remember theres a few guidelines that need to be followed in order for it to receive a VIN#... I dunno, I'd say go for it if youre willing to go thru the red tape of importing a car.

i thought it was 15 years... maybe not
either way I wouldn't want a car like that, replacement parts would be to hard to get and expensive

Dude you owned a 13 coupe and you thought that was a pain in the *** to deal with because its "old", imagine this car.

I love Hakosuka GTRs but I don't think you would want to daily something this well restored and wrecking it.

the law is different or certain states.... they just changed our historic tags to 20 years... so ill have my buddy put them on my 240 in 2009.... this means no emissions testing for my ride.
