i don't remember what the wiring is like on those fans so i'm not sure if this will do you any good or not.

??? huh ??? I dont have a thermo switch, I just want to hook it up so when I push my A/C switch it comes on since I have no A/C. Do I still need to run it to any relays???

i see so you want to control when they are on and off. in that case no just find the +12v switched for the ac relay and plug the + wires in there. that was originally what i did but i thought it best to let the thermostat switch turn the fans on and off.

If you don't run a thermo switch you can seriously get horrible miles per gallon and run rich. The ecu calibrates A/Fr's to the coolant temp.
Besides you use battery power in some cases when the fan isn't needed at all such as wehn you are on the freeway.

Okay, I was looking at my fuse box and noticed I have 2 relays one says rad fan low and the other says rad fan high?? also I have a 30 amp fuse that says rad fan. I was wondering if these are for hooking up the dual electric fans??

I just installed my dual altima fans with a F.A.L thermo switch and I am using the 30 amp fuse should I switch up to a 25 amp????

jramosthe1st! 11-24-2007 04:11 PM

i've been using 15amps with no problems.

Whats the difference??

as long as you don't draw more current than the fuse is rated for there isn't a difference. the problem comes when you use a higher rated fuse than the wires can handle. then rather than the fuse blowing your wires catch on fire. i assume you are using relays or a relay for the thermo switch.

if so the relays i've seen for the switches tend to be rated at 30amps. i believe the thermo switch is 25amps. so just use any thing that has the same rating as the lowest rated device, in this case the therm switch. i play it safe when it comes to wiring and go with the lowest possible fuse that will supply a sufficient amount of amps but will blow before causing any damage.

install a 75amp relay and you will be fine no voltage droppage of spike.. i have been running electric fans for about 4 1/2 years now no issues
