I just got back from the event. It was a fun event. Lots of cars to drool over with. Talking about the GT cars, those cars are awesome. I sat down at the VIP sections and got a closer look at all the cars. Those cars are loud as hell!! And freakin' fast too. Especially that white & black PIAA NSX.

D1 is also the best. What's cool is, this time they setup the high speed drifting competition. Cars running at 100mph then drift. Since I was at the VIP section, I got all the dirt and tire smokes. But it was still cool. What's funny is, I sat down next to Amemiya-san (he's one of the best RX-7 tuner in Japan, and his shop is well known too) and I was rooting for the Pontiac GTO when the RMR GTO vs Amemiya RX-7 twin drift competition. Me and my friends were just chearing for Rhys Millen and his GTO. Support US drivers!! RMR GTO won in this round. Well, I also got an autograph of Amemiya-san.

The D1 champion is Kumakubo-san of Team Orange driving the orange S15. The announcer were saying that he owns the Ebisu Circuit in japan. He has his own freakin' race track to practice everyday, which is so cool.

...he (Kumakubo) also owns 2 zoo's in Japan... LOL

The Pirates were part of the VIP section that was cheering for the Japanese drivers... and then the stupid people who fought in the stands LOL

All in all it was pretty good. The organization of the event could have been better (majority of the crowd had no idea what was going on when the JGTC cars were running)... went in as part of a car club so we got choice parking in the infield area... the stupid NSX car club took up ALL of the 'fan lap' slots, so none of us got to drive the track (bastard Hondas)... got a pic with Orido-san which was fun... Sunday's D1 finale I think made the event.

Funny side story - my girlfriend likes Ken Gushi whereas I am N.O.B.'s #1 fan, so when they had to pair up for the Tsuiso battles, there was some tension ROFL

HKS > Gushi Auto.

sr20det power, that was probably me since Saturday we drove by the auto-X before parking (had a couple friends running in the Auto-X)... and whenever we left or came back to the speedway we'd take the back route which always passes the auto-X area

Yea man gotta love american cars and drivers going at it with some of the best drifters in the world. I wish we could get some D1 action over here on the east coast.

JGTC was kinda fun. I really liked the Sprints more then the actual competition. Damn those Z's were loud as hell. Loved D1GP. fun fun fun. Only downside was walking all the way to the non-vip seats n the price of food. Can't wait for the next D1.

O yea. The Auto-X that was done by NASA was pretty unorganized. Not the test drive, but the one u pay for.

The RX-7 sound accelerating out of the chicane area was sexy...

... true, my friends in the NASA-ran auto-X said it sucked ***... they started making people do 8 laps straight, then changed it to 4 laps, take a break, then 4 laps again... the staff was horrible and unfriendly too from what they were saying.

I feel ya with walking all the way around the straight just to get to the non-VIP section... but then again WTF when it was D1GP time Tsuchiya and Orido etc. were sitting in the non-VIP side

i got video sof the amenmiya(sp?) driving into pit with the left front tire horizontal, i dunno if anyone else saw it but that was pretty messed up. then sunday it was perfectly fine with just the hood a little messed up, i would i could get my car fixed that quickly a few times when the cars went in to pit they hit a few guys in their pit crew trying to stop, then i went around the vip area and got shots from different places of the track. DAM IT WAS WINDY. at least sunday calmed down with the winds tho.

D1GP was fun too, the drivers probably liked the bigger track too. i got up to the front when the JGTC cars were lined up for the first sprint on sunday and they started the motors right next to me n drove by, dam it was loudddd and i got it all on tape, when i started to walk back after they all took off i noticed they locked the gates behind me, so only a handful of people were next to these cars.

well it was a great weekend and i hope i get to do it again, im still worn out from walkin so much both days, but it was all worth it, i hope u guys had as much fun as i did

JGTC/D1 was great. Place is gigantic compared to Irwindale. Next time bringing my pocketbike . I really wanted to see Kazama or Nomuken make it to the end. Last D1, Kazama and Kumakubo had a good battle. And those girls in the pink ... holy crap! They were part of Angels and Asphault or something? They were handing out flyers and that one with huge knockers had one of her tittays hanging out! Everyone was swarming towards her and totally forgot about the racing going on around them.

i had a great time up there. Staed the weekend at my buddy's house over in Victorville which was cool cuz it was like 30 minutes away from the track. Cali cops are crazy though. Got pulled over about 5 times the whole weekend. We took these back roads from Victorville to Fontana... HOLY ****!!! I felt like i was in inital D and ****. These roads were so windy and smooth... it was insane My buddy ended up in a ditch on sunday on our way to the track. We were following him going about 45 and he hit this corner and overcorrected.....

D1 was great. Overall Rhys Millen earned my respect. He was killin it. Chris Forsberg did really good too.
