just curious but...

im in the process of picking up a black spec v. I always loved how the sylvia looked and was wondering how much it would be to just pick up a 95 240 and convert the front end and swap out the motor for an sr20det. if it'll end up cheaper then the spec v, iull tollay consider that cuz it looks way better.

For the 97-98 front end your looking at around $1500. You can get the parts at the dealership, but I don't think it will be painted and depending on the dealership you might have to go to a body shop to convert the front end. But everything is a direct bolt-on, if you have the tools and the time to do it yourself. The SR swap can have different prices, it depends on which SR you get (S-13 or S-14, blacktop or redtop). But your looking at $2000-$4000, depending on how you get your engine you will to get extra parts, which is something I can't help you with. The only down sides with the SR engines are finding OEM parts (which all have to be imported from Japan) and passing emissions (which is impossible in Cali).

BTW you spell the name SILVIA, not SYLVIA
