KAlbs... corret me..

How much does the ka24de weigh? like 500 pounds?? correct me.


i only ask becasue i called this cast-iron and metal scrap yard and they said they would give me money for it... 4 dollars by pound so i'm guessing the ka24de is 500 pounds... so that's like 2 grand??


but

I think i found the acutal weight for the engine and trans....


is this right???? sounds a lot better to me... correct me...

Engine/Trans. Weight: 540lb (KA24E: 492lb)

engine 540lb and the tranny is 492lb... is this right??

I think some one posted that on here somewere but, I dont think its that heavy....
I think its not even near 700lbs when the Trans and Engine are assembled as a unit.

4 bucks per pound? they probably mean 4 bucks per every 100 pounds, but hey I could be wrong just goin by what other salvage yards have told me

Dude the tranny is not 492, unless im the hulk. I can pick up a ka24 tranny with no trouble.

Dang,,,,, i didn't know i was THAT strong.

I guess i can carry almost 500lbs pretty easily!!!

hell, the tranny must only weigh about 80 lbs at most

Weighed a KA24DE last night.Engine, pan on, no alternator, water pump in, rad hose on, no fuel rail, no valve cover, no exhaust manifold, no distributor, + 15 lb engine stand neck

309 lbs.

So basically the motor ring in around 300 lbs with no flywheel and clutch, and no alternator, pulleys, or pumps, or exhaust system.

P.S. FEI, the stock flywheel weighed in at 21 lbs. For comparison, a 280ZX turbo unit weighs in at 23 lbs. There is not many areas to shave down the stock flywheel without costing an arm and a leg (time) and not compromising the structural integrity of

the stock designed unit.

thanks naptime.. but i need to know what the full weight is the whole motor with everything on it expect for the trans.. trans i don't really need to care about it.

I think the total weight is around 540lb.s I may be off a few lb.s.
Thats with the engine and tranny.
