LT1 in my 91 coupe.

My buddys formula was totalled and now we have a completely built lt1 and overhauled transmission just sitting there because the car was paid off so he decided to keep it.

today were sitting at work and he says, "You said you seen guys on the forums put ls1s and lt1s in their 240. . . . so lets put my monster block in your 240."

so i went searching and searching and i find bits and pieces about the work put into this swap.

i need details. preferably someone who has done this swap and knows everything needed, fabrication, money, aftermarket, custom work, someone who has done this and has a working lt1 or ls1 in their 240.

once again, i have a 91 240 coupe.

thank you for your time and any help you give me.
Tyler.

GO for it! It will take a lot of custom work and wiring but there is no beating the power and torque of that monster NA motor.

thankss. i really wanna do it but i want know what im getting into ahead of time so i dont have a halfway finished project and give up on it.

he had it turbo'd and it was ridiculous.
and a formula is alot more heavy then a 240. . . i can only imagine what it would be like.

like i said. i have access to the setup thats the reason im looking into. i wanna talk to someone who has actually did this whole setup so they can tell me pretty much everything im getting into.

also. ive been looking into the rb25det. bolts up a bit easier then the lt
then again. i thought about just building a nice sr20det. build it so it isnt just a straight up racecar. . but something i can get into and be reliable.

it will definately be the sex. but i was wondering about the weight too
i know his transmission alone weighed a **** ton. i remember when we loaded that thing up in the truck after having it rebuilt/overhauled.

the turbo set up would be going in the 240 too . . . but the car was sitting in the driveway up on jacks and someone cut half the turbo system off the car. ****faces.
and then i found the camaro with his setup rigged on there and the cop said there was nothing to do because my bud didnt have his papers.

soooo thats a lesson. keep all documents about everything you put on your car.
