It depends on what you want to do with the car. If you like dragracing, or if you ever drive in traffic, the automatic is the way to go.
If you like "motorsports" that involve long, pointless tire-smoking exhibitions or sliding your car ***-backwards off cliffs, then the manual conversion is definitely superior.

i want a DD, i'm not driving it this winter. I want to garage it, and either do engine work and lower it, Or do the conversion and lower it. I'm trying to decide. Anyone know where they sell the whole conversion? I'm going to jack it up on jack stands all winter while i'm painting my rims and ****. But overall i just want a little more power, and a manual trans. Mabey some kyb gx2 and s-techs.

I would do the manual swap.
More power is always great, but what is the point in an auto?
The manual literally puts the power at your fingertips.
You can controll all that power at your whim. At first it is a ***** driving around. But when you come up to a red-light, your first in line. You get a feeling shifting through the gears, so utterly different then just punching it and having an auto shift for you.
Just my 5-cents.
I get bored driving in an auto, feels like something is missing.

I just ran brackets this past weekend at NHRA Pomona. The car ran 14.48 in the quarter, and I made it to round three before taking myself out with a rookie mistake - I didn't catch the fact that they'd put my dial-in into the system wrong until I was halfway down-track and wondering why I was about to lose a race I should have won.
As a "hardcore drag monkey," I love it when other drivers are checking you out in the lanes - most of them (the ones who have never bracket raced before, generally speaking) laugh when they see two pedals, but the guys who are serious about it go out of their way to make sure they don't get paired with anybody running an automatic.
