Manual conversion or performance?
if i were you, i'd probably do the 5speed swap.
or anything to get the car ready for big power.
yea, the third pedal.
sometime over the summer, i was driving my mom's auto civic. the civic pisses me off cuz it just wont go. so i was pushing it pretty hard on the on ramp and right when i started to merge on the highway, i felt a sudden need to shift up (as the RPMs were rising). without even thinking my left foot went down and hit the brakes pretty hard throwing me forward. my hand was on the shifter getting ready to shift and i ended up in neutral.
luckily there was no one behind me.
when i get in ANY auto, i notice my left foot stomp down on nothin rigth before i start the car.
or anything to get the car ready for big power.

I propose an experiment.
Take the car to the nearest drag strip now, with the automatic transmission, and again after the swap. Keep all the other variables the same, and see if it's faster or slower once you put the new transmission in.

Of course.
I just ran brackets this past weekend at NHRA Pomona. The car ran 14.48 in the quarter, and I made it to round three before taking myself out with a rookie mistake - I didn't catch the fact that they'd put my dial-in into the system wrong until I was halfway down-track and wondering why I was about to lose a race I should have won.
As a "hardcore drag monkey," I love it when other drivers are checking you out in the lanes - most of them (the ones who have never bracket raced before, generally speaking) laugh when they see two pedals, but the guys who are serious about it go out of their way to make sure they don't get paired with anybody running an automatic.
damn i thought the price was going to be more for the swap. 400-600 for the clutch and other stuff.
are you talking about the guy from ebay?? yah that was a good price.

yeah everything except for a clutch, pressure plate, and ecu. No it's not from ebay. I found it through a junkyard search engine type of thing
findpart.com i think is the name. it's a damn good service lol. I had like 10 people email me the next day with what they had.
edit: and the shifter just because i want a short shifter, new clutch and p/p and im going to wire into the Auto ecu

You said I didn't answer your question, when in fact I did. You just didn't see it because the whole page break thing had you a little confused. If you're having trouble with details like that, I hope you're not going to be doing your own labor on the swap...
Looking forward to hearing how it goes, and whether the car is actually any faster when you're done.
