my car is leaking...

...coolant and its dripping off of the main crank pulley, which is right under the water pump. My water pump, however was replaced about a year ago and hasen't even started to squeel. The water pump also has no play (bearing wise). Anyone else have any other ideas? I'm pretty sure it might be my water pump but i jus want to be sure before i pull it.

may have to take it off and reseal it.. there is an hole at the bottom of the water pump that leaks fluid out if the pump is damaged.

Did you use grey gasket maker that is meant for coolant, or did you use red, black or blue????

^^^ i read your question and went out and looked- the "master machanic" used black RTV. i'm guessing that the coolant ate away or dissolved the black rtv and now it's leaking.

Could be the possible issue. The gasket maker you are suppose to use is the grey gasket maker it is resistant to coolant and water. The black gasket maker is good to seal oil leaks not water.
It could also be possible that the mechanic that did the work didn't allow a 5-10 minute set up time before wrenching down tightly to the engine, that can cause bubbles and leaks between the gasket maker seal. I would say to just get the grey gasket maker, and apply as the directions state, you should be good to go with no leaks.

When I first bought my 240sx I had the same problem. Some A$$ wipe used the blue gasket maker and it leaked like a S.O.B I was stuck on the free way when it happened. Fixed with the grey gasket maker and works like new with no leaks to date. It's been 3 years since that happened.
