my new s14!!!
my new s14!!!
so after search for a decent rwd sports car for autocross for almost a year i finally decided to go with a 240sx. i like the s14 style the best, and in my personal opinion the kouki is just as attractive as the zenki, but the zenki is much more common and there for much cheaper, at least here in phoenix. so i picked myself up a 1995 se model, and got myself a great deal since the car had a salvaged title, which i was ok with since it saved me a ton of money and this would be a track only car.
so the damage was pretty minor but the front passenger side of the frame was slightly bent, hence the salvage title, so i straighten it with a 2x4 and a sledge hammer, replaced the fender and the front bumper, and got myself a spoiler at a junkyard for next to nothin. next i picked up some drag dr-17 wheels (17x7) wrapped in 215-45 yokohama s-drive tires. painted the calipers and picked up some cross drilled rotors and hawk dtc pads, and i have to say she definitely stops on a dime now! I also install some lowering springs with kyb shocks.
after all the that i install a brand new dual stereo deck and speakers (yes the stock amp bypass was a freakin *itch). I also picked up a navan grill, the car came with no grill, and i really didnt like the look of the stock grill, so for all you "clean" lovers out there, sorry but thats the only part that isnt pure stock. after that i took her down to the paint shop and had her painted "smoked metallic grey" and i do love the results =) :
p.s. if you guys have an questions please let me know, and i also have a set of se 5 lug wheels for sale, so if you want them or want some pics of those lemme know.
p.s.s. if anyone on here is in the phoenix, az area hit me up!
p.s.s.s i think ill be putting in a cold air intake, full 2.5" exhaust and headers next, any objections?

clean bro.. great first mods man.... the way it suppose to be... now.....
on the next mods.... what are you overall plans... if you plan to do any motor swapping jazz etc etc.. keep it stock dude.. its no point in wastin money on mods only to rip them off at a later date and try to sell them for less than what you paid
clean car welcome

thanks for the comments guys
ya basically the engine itself will stay stock, in order to stay in my current class basically the only upgrades i can do are cold air intake, headers, exhaust, pulleys, spark plugs and wires, fuel pressure regulator, and a little tampering with the ecu, but no piggyback or ecu swaps.
by the way, does anyone know is there any point to installing a fuel pressure regulator if i cant swap out the injectors or fuel pump for bigger ones?

nice man i auto-x in my 240 too i run in STX class cause of suspension but i still win with my underpowered KA lol
when i get my sr in ill have to run in the Modified class thats where the real competition is for me atleast

yeah there's nothing wrong with going up a class when you put more mods on too. I run in sport modified and it's pretty competitive, but not like sts and stx. I can stay a couple seconds off modified evos and rx7s while having a lot of fun. 240s do run really well in sts and stx so see what you can do. Might want to pick up a spare set of tires with thin sidewalls to compete with if you can.
as far as the FPR its no point in upgrading it. with a stock setup... the FPR maxes out at 34psi with vacuum and around 44psi without vacuum.. more than enough psi for a stock motor and injectors.
hey guys thanks for all the great comments, everyone seems to love the color
sorry about the attachments but i couldn't figure out how to just post regular pics, i'll post my car in the gallery soon
