need black paint help for my kouki! PLEASE!
I'm painting my newly made kouki. I want a super clean black color. I am deciding between just a super black/glossy paint job, and the same thing but with just a LITTLE pearl.
Anybody have recomendations? I already went to the paint shop and the lady basically said, don't even bother looking at the samples. Black looks totally different on sample than a whole car. I'm like wtf. great. now how am i going to get the PERFECT color???? Then it hit me. You guys are the ish and will help me!
So. Anyone know of a super sexy black that is REAL CLEAN LOOKING. By clean, i mean simple, elegant, and sexy. None of that lexis IS metallic grey, or anything similar. Just a sexy black, maybe with a little pearl of some kind.
Anyone ever had black with little gold pearl?
thanks to anyone who helps!!! i want to get this thing painted this week!!

from cars i painred, pearl looks nice, but it tends to dull the glossyness of the black, makes it look dusty sometimes.. Black is a easy color to paint, if you want black to make people drool,
wet sand the car with 600grit, shot 2-3 coats of primer . put down a guid coat over the primer, wet sand with 1500, lay down the black 3-4 coats, wet sand with 2000 grit, and then clear the car with 3-4 coats of clear, wet sand with 1500-2000 grit depending on orange peal, and then do a 3 stage compound and buff.. you should see your reflection in a flawless paint job.. Retail cost i'ed charge about 4500 for that. and i'ed charge $1250 for a normal black paint job, I'm not cheap but my paint jobs have been sponsored by wax comapanies, so they are worth having done by a pro..

thank you sir!!!!
your info is MUCH appritiated!
So from your pro. point of view....K.I.S.S. No pearl/met./flake or any other bs. Just simple sexy black. right?
Last q- are there any specific blacks that you recomend. Like color code, the car it came on, or anything? I'm kinda lost. They all look the same on the tiny *** sample, but i know they will come out slightly different! Any help is appritiated.

when goin black, I like strait black, there is no real code, just buy black pigment and reducer, and mix it to the recomended ratio and paint, PPG, Lazerth how ever it's spelled are good, even Dupont. If you wanna save a few bucks don't like to say but you can get a cheaper primer and base black coat, spend a lil extra on the clear.. If you go to a paint shop just let them know you want a 2 stage black not a single stage. Black is one color you can accualluy have the pigment and clear mixed togther..
