fried rings or bad valve stem seals.

it all depends on how much oil

or a leaky valve cover.

How could it be a problem with the engine itself? The oil was on the WIRES, right? Aside from the leaky valve cover, how could there possibly be oil on the outside of the engine unless there was some kind of massive failure? Somebody probably spilled oil in there.

bad spark plug cly gasket and or very very very bad rings...... take the valve cover off and see if the spark plug cly gasket has any cuts in it.. it happen to me before... i vacummed the oil out with a straw before i removed it so that all the oil would not go directly in the cly causing smoke for a few minutes or so.

ts no quick fix.. the rings them selves are not expensive.. but you have to take the engine apart and remove the pistons..and if you crack a motor open in this game you may as well add new bearings, forged pistons etc... no point just to open it up to replace rings..

the piston ringlands of the KA are weak so if you want to boost thats another things you can knock out of the way.

yourself doing work= Knowleadge and the cost of parts and tools

someone else= hmmm a good amount of pocket change.. cant say exactly, no one has ever worked on my car so i am not good a giving prices for things. it varies from shop to shop.... whatever you do dont take it to walmart or pep boys and ask them to do it LOL
