ok i was in an accident and was wondering... is it worth it?

my car is a 95 zenki ..
and it was in an accident

number 1,3, is basically wat i need to get replaced under the body.... that is exactly where my car was hit on the right side...

i was wondering.... is it worth it to repair this? i mean the job im getting done for free ( welding, and paint ) but the parts i need to buy

on the pic part number 1 is exactly where i got hit... it seems the control arm or something is bent because my wheel is slanted... that i can fix after i buy the parts... and stuff... money isn't the MAIN problem ... of course it's limited but ... im trying to weigh the cons and pros

it was hit quite hard... my glass shattered... i dont' have pics of the car with me ebcause im at work and my car being at my church parking lot ( it's free of harm and free of charge hehe )

does anyone know if there would be any damage to the chassy ?

and would it be back to original if i get everything fixed? i need some opinions and if you guys know like what i should be worried about due to this damage ... thanks a bunch again

With being hit on the B pillar, you're gonna need to have the car put on a frame rack. As I gaurantee your rear shock towers are now torqued, subframes are bent, and suspension is horked. Espically if you say the wheel is bent inward, you have some serious structural damage.

Your best bet, is to ask someone who operates a frame rack to look at the car. Someone who actually does all the pulling, and have them give you an estimate. They will tell you straight out if its worth it or not, but I'll tell ya now, they will say to just junk it.

I'd do what purple said, take it somewhere and have the frame checked out

When dealing with ANY unibody car (almost every car since the early 80's are unibody) when in an accident, they need to be put on a frame rack. If they take direct damage to the sides, they are going to have a issue. Something somewhere is torqued from the wreck.

And being that its right infront of the wheels, its right around the subframe (rear frame to the main body, where it all connects). With being around the subframe and the wheel not 100% straight, its bent. Hate to tell ya that, but its bent.

thing is... i can actually get that part that is betn right now... the sub frame... i can buy that part... if i buy it ... and they cut it and weld a new one on.... would that be ok ? and the wheel being bent ... how i see it ... i took off the wheel and put on the spare because the stock wheels were too wide cuase the quarter panel was rubbing into it... when i took the wheel off... it seems that one or 2 of the arms were bent but that was about it ...

would that still be a problem purple? btw thanks for the info will have to look into that

The subframe is bent. It will basically need what is called a "back-half". A LOT of labor involved, and is not cheap to do. I have done such repairs on cars, and the cost outweighs the benifits.

Also, when cutting out the bad subframe more problems can occur. Sure, if you get a very competant body shop guy to do the work it can be fixed, we've done it before. But it is very time consuming, and when major repairs like this are done most of the time require a state inspection (due to safety reasons).

A lot of times when cutting out these old peices, body shops will just use a torch. Baaaaaad idea. It turns the frame rails very brittle (able to break it apart with your hands alone). Honestly, take the car, strip it down to nothing and sell it all off on eBay. Really the best advice I can give you.

I know how it is to get attached to a car, all of us do. But when safety and money come into play, you have to make the right discesion. There will be other cars...

no way it's worth it to try and fix what you're explaining. i'm majoring in auto paint and body and can tell you you're looking at well over 32 hours on the frame rack alone. that's more than 2600 bux. take it to insurance if you have full coverage... take the write off... buy it back and part it. otherwise just part it.

Eh.. now that all depends on what the going rates are in his area. Frame time around here (I know a guy that is the only thing he does), digital scales and pullers. He charges me $55/hr. Just got a new core put in my CRX for just over $600. But it wasn't no where near that damage.

A 95 Zenki, unless you have some big mods done to the car, and it has ultra low miles, its not worth it. Just being honst with ya. And with frame damage, the car will never be the same again. I know this from first hand experience.
