oversteer: when cornering, the rear end of the vehicle turns at a greater rate than the front end causing a skid or slide. this usually happens when the rear end loses traction while the front end is still gripping. if you've ever watched any drift videos, "The Dukes of Hazard", or just about any movie with a chase scene, you've no doubt seen oversteer

understeer: when cornering, the front end of the vehicle does not turn (or turns very little), resulting in the vehicle plowing through the turn (pretty much in a straight line) rather than following it. this usually happens when the front end of the vehicle loses traction (which, if you haven't figured it out, is bad since the front end is where your steering control comes from)
hope that helps!

i got a question though: how did you find out that you got all that understeer? i always thought that 240's would carry a bit of oversteer. then again, i've never driven one hard enough to tell (yet
)
