He got rid of that UGLY and horrible clutch fan, and probably installed 2 12" electric fans, same thing i'm doing in march.

Yeah. I've had a bit of water vapor come out of the tail pipe on a couple of instances. I'm about to make some kind of shield from sheet steel. I'm either going to form it around the filter element, or make some sort of partial fender liner. I don't know yet.

as hobo as it may sound... a coffee can around the filter with a whole in the bottom for the pipe would keep water out. as long as the coffee can's diameter is about an 1.5 inches bigger than the filter their shouldn't be much air resistance. although fabricating something else would look a whole lot better.... heh

did you have to cut a hole or just remove the battery tray?
looks pretty good though, i think a fender liner would be a good idea

I removed the battery tray AND cut a hole where it use to be. The reason that I don't have fender liners is because I use to have the Tein Flex. And, with them set to my preferred height, fender liners were out of the question. I even had to modify the upper part of the frame (above the tire).

looks good for custom work buuuuuuuttttttttt the 90 degree angles are going to kill the air flow. I had a 88 mr2 and had a shop put in a custom intake into the trunk and it had two right angles. then had the same shop put on a custom pipe leasing towards the wheel well and there was a noticable gain in power plus i ran a 15.248 in the 1/4 which was mor than a half second difference in thime from the first intake i got.... hust food for thought...

Well, its not a true 90 degree angle. Its more of a 90 degree curve with a fairly large radius. Add to that the fact that its mandrel bent, and the airflow is impeded little to not at all.
