Looked up the conquest and it seems that it was made under 3 badges which was Plymouth, chrysler, and Dodge. It is the EXACT same thing as the Mitsubishi Starion, I fubared and called it a daytona, they all freakin looked the same.
Well, I've found an interesting car
91 fastback
Idunno though, 169k is a crapload of miles. $3000 seems like WAY too much to me for that kind of mileage...edmunds TMV says less than $1k private party, even with all the options. I love that color though, and I have to go to that area before too long anyway, so I'll probably take a look at it. The pictures are crappy but it looks like the paint is fading on the hood, or maybe even primered...for sure I can see some yellowing on the bumper, and that's not cool.
Then there's this:
97 coupe
Looks great, but it's pretty shady...unless the owner has done body work (doubtful), it's obviously a '97 not a '95. Make up your mind will ya? And if you go to that page that it lists on there, it's really an automatic, with "5spd parts available". It also lists it as having 77k miles, not 87k. WTF. Well, hopefuly it has the LSD. There are a couple more on there that I'm interested in, too, but I don't want to make this post too long.
Well I'll check the MIN on anything I go to look at. Raine, I love how on that VIN guide, you blurred out your car's serial number on that white label, but then it's listed right below it again and it's not blurred!
Seriously though, great writeup there, I'll be sure to take it with me. There is another car in the area, a red Kouki. But I'd rather not have red...not only is it a cop magnet, it's a lot more prone to fading and oxidizing. Plus, red is just not my color. Preferably I'll have something white, grey, black, silver, or green.
Do you guys know anything about title recovery? Mine is lost. I'm not sure, but I think I may need it to sell my car. Unless I sell it to a dealership...but that'd mean taking a huge loss (probably a $1000 difference).

Well, crap. I've been emailing back and forth the guy with that black kouki. I've cleared up the confusion, but he is not willing to let anyone drive his car unless they have cash on hand. And I'm definitely not buying it without driving it beforehand. He's also asking over $1000 more than KBB price, because he believes that the price of 240s is just that inflated. Oh well...I'll just go drive that red kouki, it's at a dealership.
pass on the 91... if they won't let you drive it then that's shady enough.
Use Carfax. $25 is worth the extra measure of making sure you're getting what you think you're getting.
And the MIN can be shared with cars with the same options from the factory - but VINs are always different!

Actually, it was the '97 guy that won't let people drive it. And yes, the ad was shady, but we cleared everything up, like I said. It's a '97 automatic. The parts he mentioned for the manual conversion are for sale seperately, they do not come with the price of the car. And not everything is there. It's an SE with LSD and ABS. It also has an Injen CAI on it. As far why he isn't giving test drives, he claimed that "There are too many people that don't have the money on hand. Unfortunately, I cannot give test drives to everyone that [just] want to see how the car feels." I still don't get that...isn't the purpose of a test drive to see how a car feels? Oh well. I'll go drive this instead. One thing I'm wondering, surely those cars didn't come with a 5-speed automatic?
take your time if your patient you could possibly find a good deal. imo get a kouki. to many people buyin hatch's keep it clean my suggestion is to do the minor mods first if you really do plan on getting serious about auto x or whatever possibly a full coilover setup. and other little things like I/H/E if your gonna stick with the ka.
btw a little off topic but raine your car is ****ing badass i'm luvin it. i think it's a combo of the stance it has that it's black and so subtly pimp

So I drove that red Kouki today, and all I got to say is mmm....I love it. Actually, it is a bit underpowered. I was dissapointed by the general lack of torque, but I guess that's to be expected from a four cylinder. Then again I didn't get to drive it at high speed so maybe I shouldn't be judging it yet.
I probably won't buy this particular car, though, because of some exterior damage that should not be there for a car this new. The clearcoat on the hood is being eaten away in one spot, one of the turn signals is busted in, and the passenger side foglight is missing (wtf? I'd like to know how that happened). However, the interior is absolutely amazing, it's clean like brand new. Well, even if I did buy it, it's an auto, so I'd have to pay even more money to do a 5-speed conversion, which at the price these cars come at I can't really afford. How much would that cost anyhow?
You know, driving it at low speeds, I couldn't tell that it was an FR. It was definitely waaay more responsive than my car, but I didn't feel like I was being "pushed' instead of "pulled". I'm not sure if this is because of my lack of skill, or because it was just too slow to matter. But one thing is for sure, I think I will be able to get as close to one of these cars as I am with my current car. In my Camry, even though it is a Camry, it's gotten to the point where I can pretty much feel what the car is doing in my seat and in the steering wheel. Not too long ago I noticed that I can use the accelerator to control understeer in turns, making it a lot easier to corner. Well, both of these things might be explained by the tires, which are quite old and one of them is warped as well.
The owner of that car is really cool though, I could see him coming off of that price because of the damage, and the high mileage for a '98. He also owns a very nice silver AE86 which they told me was their drift car. I botched and asked whose Supra it was.
LOL...I was telling him how I didn't like to buy from used car dealers, but that I wouldn't mind buying from them because they were mechanics...and he was like, "mechanics, us? nah...just gotta keep up with stuff", when a) they own a parts shop and b) he was reassembling a strut tower right in front of my eyes! I'm pretty sure he was trying to hide the fact that a lot of illegal street racing goes on in that town, and he probably participated.
Ah well, I'll get my car ready to sell and see how this pans out. I still can't decide whether to go old or new, though. Buying an old car would be cheaper and leave room for potential upgrades...but the new cars look cooler and are probably more reliable...ugh.

Well I can't drive a stick, yet.
Never had the oppurtunity to learn. I'm gonna start bugging my uncle and see if he'll let me borrow a car lol. I only drove that car to get a glimpse of what it's like to really drive one.
