Question about A cylinder head
whatsup iam new here, but i've been reading the forums for a while.
my cylinder head went bad on my 240sx-91 and now its running very slow and raggeddy with nasty sound. so i ordred a factory rebuilt cylinder head from this company. but then the lady tells me their guarntee is that the head is not cracked or wraped. and she said i need to take the head to a machine shop and make the sure the valves will work with my engine
now my question is why in the world do i need to do that if the head is made for my engine, thev valves should work with it right?
sorry if its a stupid question but iam very curious
Thanks
MHB

well as far as i know its a rebuilt. she said they have used cylinder heads with unknown miles on them for about $320, OR a factory rebuilt one for $420. so i chose the rebuilt for reliability reasons. and ya thats why iam asking, i dont' know why she said that, maybe she just doesn't know what da hell shes talkin about
you could get like 3 engines for that much money : P im sure one of them would have a good enough head.
I got a rebuilt engine, tranny, ecu, and harness for 100$ from a local shop while they were doing an sr swap.

nice man, thats a pretty good deal. i do have another 240sx engine i got from a friend that did a swap. it has a tranny hooked with it in my garage. unfort its no use for me because i have a 91 DOHC. the other one is a 90 SOHC.
at first iw as thinking of taking the valves out of that engine since my problem is a valve leaking, but then i thought of the trouble if the valves wouldn't work and alla that headache and just went ahead and ordred a whole new head
