Questions
Well, no I'm not dumb and yes I searched lol.
Ok, here is my question. My car is not in bad shape or is the engine in bad shape. I have a question. When I push the gas and let of real quick like it sounds like something is rattling. I took off the head sheild around the catylitic converter and it still rattles. My dad, he is a mechanic, suggested over the phone that it is probally the cover for the exhaust manifold. If so, is it safe to leave it off until I get a new header? Thanks, Lucas |
that could well be, but i'd take it off, and take the car for a drive and see if thats it. The head shield is there for a reason, and with stock headers you should definately keep in there. I myself put in Hotshot Headers, so I took it off. But for stock use, I wouldn't reccommend keeping it off.
Make sure to solve the problem. Dr. |
Heat wrap is always an option if ya take the shield off and want to keep the temp down still.

Ohh, good point.
If thats what it is, that could be an easy solution Good thinking! Dr. |
Thanks for the heat wrap idea :bigok: . Another question is that if I remove the insulation type thing underneath the hood will it affect the heat of the engine? Or is it just to muffle the sound?
Thanks, Lucas |
That doesnt muffle sound it protects the paint on your hood from discoloring.
