Questions

Well, no I'm not dumb and yes I searched lol.

Ok, here is my question. My car is not in bad shape or is the engine in bad shape. I have a question. When I push the gas and let of real quick like it sounds like something is rattling. I took off the head sheild around the catylitic converter and it still rattles. My dad, he is a mechanic, suggested over the phone that it is probally the cover for the exhaust manifold. If so, is it safe to leave it off until I get a new header?

Thanks,
Lucas

that could well be, but i'd take it off, and take the car for a drive and see if thats it. The head shield is there for a reason, and with stock headers you should definately keep in there. I myself put in Hotshot Headers, so I took it off. But for stock use, I wouldn't reccommend keeping it off.
Make sure to solve the problem.

Heat wrap is always an option if ya take the shield off and want to keep the temp down still.

Thanks for the heat wrap idea . Another question is that if I remove the insulation type thing underneath the hood will it affect the heat of the engine? Or is it just to muffle the sound?

Thanks,
Lucas

That doesnt muffle sound it protects the paint on your hood from discoloring.

I have a question.

i have a 90' 240 fastback. its been sitting for about 2 years.
when i rev the engine to 5000rpms it makes a rattle sound near the fire wall and engine.....

any suggestions of what it may be?

i suspect its the motor mounts. if it is how much do think it will cost?

does anyone have a suggestion on an engine swap place in the ti-state area as well??? & paint job shop so i can do at the same time??
