Questions about Antenna

Hey guys, I am taking out my power antenna since it broke and will only stay fully extended. I ripped out the antenna and the motor, now I am having problems taking out the long rod in which the antenna would sit in while being retracted. Anyone have a diagram or a DIY guide on how I can take it out? I have a stubby antenna waiting to be installed.BTW, its for a 92 240sx hatch.

Thanks,

Roman

you gotta unscrew it. there are 2notches on either side of the hole. i used some needle nose pliers and put either side in each of those notches.

if you go to the parts store you can get the tool for removing the antenna... it is well worth the investment in the case that you slip off of the chrome nut... the needle nose pliers works but i would suggest putting electrical or duct tape over the tips so as not to scratch the paint if you go that route...

you know its funny because when i got my 240 it had no antenna so i bought one of those oem power ones before i realized that without any antenna the 240 amazingly picks up every radio station on the dial.
i say ditch the ugly antenna and if your getting good reception like my hatch does just cap it off.
i guess you could also try an internal antenna but what do i know.
also a 95 and up antenna wont work on a 92, theyre like an inch longer
hope it helps.
