I want to do a swap on my 240, and I want to achieve a 12.5-13.0 quarter mile time. What engine swap would you do to get up there cheapest?

RB26DETT

You'll be looking 10K to get that done, whether it be SR or RB, or you could build a KA like no other & Turbo it like hell

probably not gonna like this but the quickest and least expensive way to 12s and lower... put a small block 383 and super-charge or turbo it...

i mean hell you could get a long block brand new of a 383 for $500.... transmission more then likely $300 or less... drive train and complete rear-end for like $600...

RB25 should be enough..that thing can supposedly hold 450hp well with stock internals. Would be great for 1/4 mile.

how many times does it have to be said?

240's arent drag cars they are driving cars. ment to be actually driven! and a straight line isnt driving.
but i will give some input here an rb would be the easiest way to go but it can be done with an sr the same way just takes more skill and tuning.
Just my $.02

will an rb26dett fit in with little or no modifications? or do you just need new engine mounts or something?

how much would a good rb26dett go for??

for those who were helping me on my thread...i have gotten insurance quotes and i am going ahead with the purchase....tomorrow i am getting him to certify it...and emissions tested...then i will be getting my moms camera and taking pics for all to see...a plain s14 240sx...but it's ok...i have no problem spending money... i had a 3 thousand dollar stereo in my ford tempo..that cost me 700 dollars.

well fist the answer is NO, its a hard swap thats y i suggested the RB25. It takes less mods then the RB26..for the RB26 ya need a custom turbo mani kus u can only run 1 turbo..the twin turbo set up is to big and wont fit. Mckinney supposedely got a S14 i think thats got the twin turbo set up but i havent read up on it. A RB26 will run ya..5 grand + Shippin...and the RB25 will run u around..3500 + shippin.
