I thought I'd share the end of my 240 with you guys. I own(ed) a 1993 240SX LE Coupe, fully loaded, in mint condition - with only 160,000kms (100,000 miles for you Americans) on it. It was a great car; all original parts, never had any problems with it. The only things I added were a stereo system and keyless entry.

On Monday, I was driving to a friend's place when a woman in a Ford Ranger decided to turn left in front of me while I was going through an intersection. I couldn't avoid her without going into oncoming traffic, so I slammed into her. The pictures are the results!

Fortunately, the entire thing was witnessed by a cop. I'm just waiting for my insurance company to officially tell me it's a write-off.

I loved that car. It will be missed.

First, what it USED to look like (a couple months ago)

They had a hard time even getting it on the tow truck!

little paint...little fiberglas....yes indeedy, good as new.....

Damn that sux man, hope nobody got hurt.

 

The truck driver was shocked that I got out of the car and was fine. She thought for sure I'd be severely injured! Guess it's a pretty safe car! The other driver was also fine.

(Fixed the image sizes, too...originals were huge).

 

yea 240s are pretty safe hell i should be a crash tester for nissan for i have crashed mulitple times and have always been ok only once it was my fault lol.

anyway glad your ok another one bites the dust but there are more out there... hell you can import a silvia or 180sx from japan since in canada you only have to wait 15 years b4 u can import cars legally, lucky i say. we Americans have to wait 25 years..

 

I'm sure it'll buff right out.
I hope you get a fair amount from insurance.

 

I would consider importing something from Japan if it wasn't too expensive.

Shaban - The question is, what's a fair amount? Kelly Blue Book tells me $4,400 US. I don't think I could replace it for that, though. I certainly wouldn't have sold it for that!

 

That was a beautiful car. I'm sorry to see it gone. Just glad you're ok. Only the black coupes look good with the factory front.....

 

Exactly!! I never liked it in any other colour. And there are so few of them still on the road.

 

I wish you luck in finding another black coupe. They might be rare, but if you want one bad enough, you can find one.

You will probably get around $2,400ish...

Honestly though, there are much better cars than a 240 out there... Open up your eyes.
Use the cash you get to put a down payment on a nice luxury car since performance isn't what you're looking for.

edit: and the two tone coupe is sexy as hell. (tan/dark tan)

 

I don't think I will buy another one. I wouldn't trust another 16 year old car! I bought that one from the original owner who was a friend of my stepmother's, so I knew where it had been it's whole life. I'll be getting something different and definitely newer; just don't know what yet! Definitely not a "luxury" car though - I hate big cars and want to stay sporty.

It's officially a write off - insurance called this morning. So far, they're offering me $5K.

 

Mustang.....You wont be dissapointed (unless you get a I4 or V6, then be prepared to shoot yourself in the temple for entertainment.....) Nothing like a Big American V8 with a solid rear axle to show you the fun of RWD. And the sound......Ahhhh...to die for!

i dont have anything against mustangs i just dont like the way they sound that specific tone the mustang has kinds sounds like banging on an empty tin can? lol dunno not my cup of tea i prefer LSx motors
