Radiator Install, 56K HA!

After months of holding it off, I finally installed my Aluminum KOYO Radiator. The Install was very easy, took my friend and I 5 hrs, and that included us f*cking around, A LOT.

The Install consisted of..

Radiator.

FAL Fan, 210 Version.

Samco Red Hoses, yea..cheesy.

Greddy Coolant Temperature Tap

Greddy 52mm Black Temperature Gauge

sorry for the blur, I'll take better pics later..

From this....

to this...

then finally this...

Misc....

looks like a fun install. Engine bay is a little less cluttered now, just needs a little cleaning!

Nice. Hopefully I'll be putting a Koyo in this weekend, too.

But please, PLEASE take it from somebody who's had an electrical fire - get a real battery tiedown to replace those zipties ASAP....

Looks good, might want to touch up that Twin cam cover though. Aside from that looks good. What do you plan to do next?

Syke... zip ties own, from tie downs to motor mounts!

Nice write up, I was thinking of doing this since I have to get a new radiator anyway, how much did this set you back, fans, radiator, and new hoses?

radiator is around $300... watch ebay, and fans are like $200-250. PLus the temp gauge and tap, which is a very good thing to have

also, you can move that lower hose up higher on the inlet too

The Battery is temporary, it's being relocated to the back as soon as the kit comes in.

For the fan wiring, my friend did it..and it took him 30mins, very easy, and very straight forward.

A couple of things I did wrong on this install..
The Gauge is ALWAYS on. I tapped it on the wrong wire..and since that happened..I ended up blowing the gauge itself..so I'm F*cked there.

As you can see..I'm running 3 gauges..The first 2 is running off the the same tap, but I decided to tap the 3rd one on another line..THE QUESTION is can I tap all 3 gauges in one?

I suck @ car electricity..and It's paying off.

depends what you are tapping into... i have my power for my defi control unit in the radio power, and cig lighter pos and neg. works awesome, since i only needed to do wiring once for up to 8 (i think) gauges

In your case... i'd try to split it up... wuick options i can think of... cig lighter, radio power (theres more than one) ecu power might work, anything that is on when the ignition is on... if they are all in one wire, you might blow the gauge (not enough power) or have them be really dim/ blow fuses

edit: download an fsm... wiring diagrams are very easy to read, just dont freak out lol. that will tell you everything you need to know
