real sleeper

I know most of you guys are more in to drifting, but I'm more of a drag racing kinda guy. Well anyways, went to the drags tonight, saw a bunch of nice cars (a viper, few vettes, etc etc) and gleaming through the crowd of civics and mustangs was a beautifully clean 240. Well it pulled up to the line, didn't even burn out and I go "man, this things gotta be stock, its gonna get wooped up on" cuz it was racing some other car that looked like it would be pretty fast. Well, tree goes down, and MAN that thing was OUT! What a sleeper! It even had a stock looking exhaust on it, and it ran mid 13's. I was amazed. I cant WAIT to get my 240!!!!

The guy probably was running street tires right? That could be why there was no burn out. Usually with street tires you want to avoid the water so the grooves in the tires don't carry any water down the track.

Good story too, thanks for sharing. I always love to hear about a good 240 drag.

yea, he was on street tires. Its funny too, because there was this civic there I kept making fun of, he must of had at least 5-10 grand into it, slicks on the front, front mount intercooler, the whole bit, and he was only running like 12's I think. HA! Stupid civics.
