s15 also comes with the sr20de, the Spec R had the DET
For silvias the trims go like this. S13 and S14 trims were J's, Q's, and K's. J's were base, Q's were sport suspension tuned, and K's were turbo. S15 trims are Spec-S and Spec-R. S is base and R turbo. For 180sx's I'm not quite sure I think there was just type s and type x trims.
Here is a little bit of international trivia.
In australia, we didnt actually have a local s13 sold, but we get a lot of imported s13 "silvias" and PS13 "180sx's"
Until 1991 the silvia had the CA18DE, a 1.8ltr DOHC n/a. the 180sx had a CA18DET, as above with turbs.
from 92 on the silvia had either sr20de or det, and the 180 had the sr20det only. in 96 they brought out the RPS13 180sx which was the first 180 with the non turb option. it also had the funky tail lights that everybody loves.
The s14 was released here as a non-turbo, but many people imported the turbo. both were a sr20de(t).
The s15 is sold here locally as either turbo or non turbo. people still import the R Spec ones tho, as they have more power still.
