just a quick question...


Does anyone have any info on the HUD (Heads Up Display) system on the S13? i have an 89 coupe and wondered if it had anything to do with it being like a special edition of the car and as you can tell i dont know much about the car.. but any info would help...

I have a 92 coupe le with HUD, 2nd one around my first and original HUD busted, i was without a speedometer for a while, but then i called around scrap yards and i found one near by i picked it up, rolled back the KM to what i originally had, and put it in, ever since then its been working fine.
anything else?

actualy i have a question about this too.. the HUD cluster has the digital speed display as well right? well i this cluster transplantable into 89'90's, and if so, how much would one of these clusters cost?

dude I’m not sure if it will fit into an 89-90, i would bet that it would fit. My friend has a 91 and its exactly like my 92, including HUD, the only thing is that the HUD comes with a window display hologram, (you know how it works) the speed gets projected onto the window, Well unless you get the projector and the glass with the hologram, this you are not gonna have.
besides at night its ****ing bright, but it can be turned on and off.

 

I know it will fit into an 89 or a 90 b/c i have an 89 coupe.. that came with it factory.. the only thing is i have no idea how much i would cost..

 

if i remember correctly i got it for like $30 (us) from a scrap yard and i suggest you do the same. look around im sure someone will have one.

HUD SWAP

 

The HUDs can be wired into analog cars as can analog to cars that came with HUD. You will need to cut a spot to mount the sender on the top of your dash.

You don't have to turn the HUD off if it is too bright. It dims with the dash light dimmer.

The window display is simple tint.

New they are $300 for the cluster without the sender. These are expensive. Time consuming. I have other options if this one fails.
