dude, i GOTTA love your pic comparison hahaha, the s15 gauge cluster is closer in the pics vs the s13 gauge cluster. how can you compare something if the distance is different?

so is the height of a man 500 ft away look the same as a man 2000 ft away. this is NOT knowning their actual height. thats how your comparing them

no it wont work. you will need the s15 engine along with rear diff because thats where the speed sensor is. the s15 cluster is actually SMALLER in length than the s13, so you will have gaps on the side.

has it been done before? yes. but if ur thiking about doing this in a car without the s15 engine. then no. the back of the cluster has approx only 2 plugs, while other cars have 3

Sensors all send the same signal. You don't need an S15 anything.

like i said, the speed sensor is locate din the rear diff, it is not in the tranny

w/o teh diff, you will not get a signal for the vtc or the speed

dont believe me?

a quote from the guy i was mention above

i wanted to swap an s15 into the s13, and make it work correctly. i heard all the buzz that the s15 is very different from the s13/14...and its true.
the s15 has a 6 spd tranny w/o a speed sensor. the speed sensor is in the differential and i also part of the abs system. as such, the abs system is integral to the ecu system as the nissan vtc reads speed to activate. so while you can run the s15 swap w/o the rr diff, you will not get vtc or a speed reading on your cluster in an s13/14.....the reason being that the s15 cluster is also integral to the ecu functioning b/c it reads the signal from the abs/speed sensor in the diff (as it exits the abs ecu) and displays your speed to you and the ecu (so that vtc is triggered).
this was info that was posted over 3 yrs ago

Yeah no ****... that's for a (6 spd) engine swap. What you're talking about is totally off topic. You do not need an S15 cluster for a S15 engine swap and vise versa. Why would you even think you would? And yes you're right you do need plugs to splice the wiring (or atleast to make it easier), but that should be understood cause you're swapping in cluster from another generation. You'd have to do the same for a kouki S13 or S14 cluster too.

you got it twisted, i am posting about getting it to WORK correctly.

the original poster posted wanting the s15 cluster put in his car, and wants it ot work.

if you want the cluster to work, you need the diff and the wiring for it to read correctly

if you have the engine, and no diff, the stock cluster will not read the speed correctly

as far as i know it, nobody has gotten the cluster to work correctly w/o all of the above

Are you talking about the difference between mph and kph speed sensors? I forgot about that..., but it will still read off a stock sensor, but if he wants kph then he could just use a s14 or s13 sr speed sensor or a canadian one. OR a stock sensor and customize the speedometer to read to 180 mph like people do with s13 and s14 clusters... Still don't need any diff unless he's got the S15 tranny.
