Fastone: Not butthurt, defensive - adjitated at the moment, sorry.. haha but thanks for coming back and giving me more info, decided to just customize the rear bumper and clear the space for the second exhaust, I'd prefer single anyways... But now with all this great info I feel confident about the sound from a single tip.

For the moon roof, I wasn't planning on like, transfering another's moon roof, or making mine powered... in that sense...

More the idea came from the fact my old homie had a Cutlass that they cut and isntalled a moonroof. I figured since the hole was already there, might have em install one... I'm going from handle to powered windows/locks - might as well put some motion in the ceiling!

Started tearing into the 240 tonight, noticed more rust... it came from Ohio so the salty roads f'd me... but I got the 240 for free [Sold @ $1500 - Gift from pops] - So I can't complain, I've been putting a lot of money into parts here and there and got tired of it, so now it's sitting in the garage while I pick it apart, Gunna clean up the rust spots get everything coated and incomes the new parts!!!!!

I don't want to add something here, something there... Cuz I don't wanna have to go back... so I'm just saving it up and doing it all at once - Overhaulin my own ish.... I figure while I'm saving money and waiting, might as well research the best products/reviews/advice I can and learn some new tricks - Welding/Fiberglass/Bodywork to save money and time [time being years saving money to afford paying someone else]

When I'm done I'm sure all of you will like it a lot... and hey... consider yourselves a part of it cuz' I'm gunna be asking a LOOOOT OF QUESSTIONSSSS hahahah...

thanks guys - support your local 240...

I have a KA24E... so to do a KA Build i'd still need to buy the engine THEN start the overhaul.... as it stands right now [minor research, let me keep looking into it before this becomes my 'personal opinion'] - There's more displacement in the KA and it's 'bullet proof' which is great! As well as it's a 'pioneering engine' because not a lot of people are doing it, and there's a lot of haters out there.. everytime I talked about possibly doing a KA Build my homie who 'had' a 240... says SR20SR20SR20! His reasons: It's cheaper to build, easier and there's more info/research available. Personally... I'd just like to drop the RB26DETT in throw on some bolt ons and just laugh at anyone that talks smack. But I don't want to lose the agility I've grown to love... So I'll probably compramise and drop an RB20DET... and some bolt ons and call it a day. It's not going to be a dift/drag machine cuz' it's going to have show-car quality. I just want to roll up between a 'souped up honda' and a Ferarri.... beatem/be able to hang... and laugh cuz It looks better than the ferrari and it cost less than the souped up honda, haha....

KA's definatly are not bullet proof, theyre actually far from it. My friend has 2 KA blocks in his back yard with holes in them. If you plan on doing high boost numbers (400HP) range, you have to build the bottom end to make it anywhere near being reliable. THe upside of having a KAT over SR is you dont have to wait for parts to be shipped from japan when you break something.

And just for reference, my friends KAT i was referring to is running a T70, AEM standalone fuel management, 1000cc Injectors, 4" GT spec exhaust

What if more people start doing the KA-T and it gets just as popular as the sr, then the cycle start all over again as people call KA-T guys "bandwagoners" lmao.

Cool Ka-T - SRDET - RB26DETT

Or.... LS1?.. haha.. I've seen a lot of Small block even a few big block swaps.. even an LS1 in a 240.. that would quench my thirst for a hearty exhaust note and give great power numbers. Beyond that the mechanical side is a bit easier say on a built 350 vs. the RB26....

Anyone pondered the swap yet?.. anyone done it?

anything and everything you can think of has been done years ago.

first things first, are you asking for advise on a motorswap you hope to perform in the near future?

or is this simply a discussion on what is the best motor to swap inot a 240 (like most other threads are)?

WOAH dude hold the phone. Theres lots of viable options out there for the KA24E if you wanna turbo it.
And good decision on not going dual exhaust. You made me all over myself. Whenever somebody says "dual exhaust 4 banger" I get haunted by the image of the dual exhaust Cavaliers.
