OK, let me rephrase what I wrote. I meant that the article in Import Racer was so bad that it's made Import Tuner look genius (SCC).

I meant that import tuner isn't the worst mag out there. (Import Racer is.)

Guess I'm getting sloppy in my writting. Sorry bout that.

Oh yeah, EvilCerealBoX, I didn't see anybody confusing the two, cause it looks like I'm the only one talking about them...
Cool beans. Import Racer is new jack but there are a few articles in there that they broke that others are copying. The getting sponsorship by Tuner was broken by Racer two months ago. Along with a story on the bad side of sponsorships.

I think of it this way.

Get them all.

Take what you can from them all. I get almost every auto magazine I can including sport trucks and motorbikes. There is always something interesting in there.

1st of all I think that Import racer is published by "buckaroo" or somehting like that since I have read on the SS guys talking trash about them.

2nd. Good point Stan, I guess my comment sounded somewhat
" old school hot rod guy" but that wasn't my intention. I do like the newer cars and wish I could go out and buy a new RSX Type S(the new SI is ugly) but I cant so I looked for a cheap old car that I would like and that I would learn from seeing as how it will have more problems than a new one. I meant that Import Tuner is going for that crowd because that's what's selling right know and what all the "people(kids") are buying but the article did kind off bashed on having an older Nissan.
and I do help the newcomers when I get asked about some car info like engines and available mods.

Point: I dont hate the newcomers but just wish they would seek help with other car guys instead of on magazines that sometimes are out just for a few bucks. (i.e. all the mags that came out after F&F came out..)

i think Stan brought up a lot of good points. my gripe is that the automotive industry, on a whole, has pretty much turned its back on relatively inexpensive rwd cars (not just nissan). however, i agree that the auto business is just that: business. simply, the demand isn't prevalent. it's not that the automakers lack the vision to provide us with more cars like the ae86 corolla or our beloved 240. it's just that if they made them in this day and age, they'd lose money. i was thinking the other day about what happened to sports/sporty cars in the past decade. let's look at the mustang, eclipse, and even the 240. each of them in their latest incarnations were total chick cars. they dropped the power from the mustang (5.0 down to a 4.6 V8) and gave it an appearance more appealing to who? women. the eclipse used to appear in turbocharged and awd variants. not anymore. and the 240 (particularly the S14 zenki), in my opinion, just screamed "i want a female owner". and let's not forget that (at least where the eclipse and 240 are concerned) the later models became increasingly harder to find in a manual tranny configuration. why? because the average young new car buyer was/is most likely a woman. most of the younger guys who would be into these types of vehicles usually would go used first. proof? how many of these later modeled cars have you seen driven by chicks? tons, i'm sure. in light of that, i can't really blame car companies. after all, they're in it for the buck, right? anyway, i'll be the first to say that's just my personal opinion and speculation. i could be wrong (and i'm pretty sure i am, oh well ). and i'm not hating on chicks or saying they can't drive manuals or whatever. hell, i think there's not many things sexier than a chick that can shift! it just appears to me that the vast majority don't or don't prefer to. okayimdonebye....

You are right. Racer and HCI are buck mags.

My wife is the cutest when she drives my truck (5speed) and when she used to drive the civic (5speed).

I like where the market is going. RSX type Ss belong on the track and they are beautiful on there.

I can't wait to get my hands on a 350z. That is going to be my next car.

I actually like that they are around. More advertisements and more shops carrying the parts that we need. That will lead to lower prices.

Buckaroo is the company that makes these magazines, like Primedia makes SCC, SS and Import Tuner..

i look at it like this. all the mags. show growth in our sub culture. there is something in there for most people. if there isnt anything in there that you cant use dont buy it, but dont knock it either that mag is only helping the hobby your in through further growth. as for the people that rice this or that out, one day they will get it right and if they dont whatever. why does everyone have to put everything down just enjoy it all. be glad your not in iraq geting shot at. there is worse stuff to cry about. i for one buy all car mags all martial arts mags and paintball mags ( all my hobbies) hell i wish there were skydiving mags ( another hobby i have too many hobbies). anyways try helping everyone further the scene it will ultimitely help you with having more stuff like parts and newer cars. everything runs in cycles rear wheel drive will come back.
