Should I repair my faulty HUD & Speedo or go with the Apexi Rev/Speed Unit?

I purchased my first 240sx yesterday and one of the problems on my grocery list is the HUD/Speedo. It supposedly works intermittently.

I know that there are companies that rebuild the units but I have read that they are not compatible with the SR20, yet the Apexi unit is.

I have also read that both items Apexi vs. Rebuild are in the same price area.

Should I get the Apexi unit wire it into my current computer keeping it for the next engine?

Or

Just get the HUD fixed?

If the price is the same for a rebuild or a new aftermarket unit, go with the aftermarket.

Apexi unit does not display mph. So I don't think I will go with it. I think I am just going to install an analog cluster.
