Anybody have any idea how you to make the side markers on 95 and up 240's turn into blinkers too? Im not talking bout just cutting the side marker wires and just hooking it up with the front blinkers. I want it to stay on like the regular sidemarker AND to blink when the blinkers/hazards are on.

 

you probably would have to change out to a dual filament socket and bulb. So 1 it stays on and blinks when signaling and just run wires 2 tap into the front corners. So just gotta really find a socket that fits correct size that slides into the stock spot.Possibly junkyard off of some car, or local pepboys I know they do carry dual filament sockets though.beware the APC aisle though

 

so how are you gonna wire that? Should it be plugged on the blinker or the side marker?

 

its 3 wires..for the most part.I would say your front corners, they stay on and blink right when turning?? If so just run a longer wire from the sidemarker wires to the front corner wires .splice into them. It shouldnt be very difficult Are u the guy with the red s14 dropped right..

 

Yeah, there were some good postings about this on the 240-chat mailing list a few months back. Here's what was said:

"Someone once told me that if you rewire side marker lights so that the
ground wire from the side marker socket grounds through the power wire of
the turnsignal socket, that it will make the side marker lights blink out of
phase with the turn signals when the side marker light is on and in phase
when the side marker lights are off. They said it was because the power wire
to the turn signal would act as a ground when the turn signals were not lit
up, and would break the ground every time the turnsignals blink on making
the side marker go off. Additionally, when the side marker lights were not
on, the power wire to them would act as a ground for the power from the turn
signals making them light up at the same time as the turn signals."

One guy mentioned the possibility of using a pair of twelve-volt relays to avoid possible damage to the blinker unit from increased current draw, but then a few other listmembers mentioned that they've had their sidemarkers wired up this way for years with no ill effects.

I tried that and i ended up doing was blowing my 10 amp fuse. I dunno maybe i hooked up the wrong wire. Imma try that again.

Am i the guy with the dropped red s14? theres a bunch of us who has a dropped red s14 *jk* yah went to sage once well not sage but mickey D's. your prolly thinking of Danny...he has a red S14 too but i have the MCS14

 

true a lot of red cars out there.. though I met you and danny..i'm josh's friend alex with the accord went to the meet with you guys...anyhow when you have the time i can help you with that as well as josh. I rewired my lower bumper turn signals to dual filaments but swapped them back later on after it was parted by thieves anyways sup
