Question silvia

I am very new to the 240 world so this question might bug some people as it might seem simple. What constitutes your 240 as bieng a Silvia? Is it the engine, the suspensions, combo of both, or is it a body style. I have seen plenty of pictures of Silvias but they all seem different. I know that different years have different things that seperate them, but what is the cominality that they all must share to proudly wear the Silvia badge and not be called a poser. Such as you see when someone slaps a Type R badge on a four door civic that has a non v engine.

ok, first, please dont compare a honda to a 240

second, yes, it's suspension, body style, engine, right hand drive, and a lot of other things... little stuff like powerfolding mirrors

this should help: (its in japanese) but it will help!

I would never make that mistake. I'm not that new. I was just trying to give a discription of what not to do. That would be suicide on this forum.

i could care less if my car is called a silvia or a 240sx, i dont care if your car has a silvia front clip with engine, panels lights taillights, either way it still started as a 240sx. So its not a silvia, i just took off my 240 tags, but i didnt put silvia ones on there. Why do people care if you call it a silvia or a 240?

It's really not that I care to much about the badges either. It's the per formance of the sil that I am interested in. And being that the silvia is the for runner on performance for nissan it would be the car to look at for upgrading your own car.

Just get the SR20, besides the obvious differences most other things are the same

Lol. under your car description is says silvia14...

But You're right.

no matter what you do to the car it will never be a true Silvia, but who cares? It's still your car and in most cases it doesn't take much money to make a 240sx tear apart a stock 2.0. The "silvia" name in America is really overrated and as said earlier is "JdM TyTe Y0" Keep in mind I'm not saying badging a 240sx with JDM badging is wrong, because it is atleast similar. Now throwing a GT-R badge on it is something completly different.
