So i got my sr dyno'd

Like the title says, i got my sr dyno'd today on a dyno jet. not very impressive numbers.

98 s13 blacktop, stock t25, 3inch downpipe, testpipe, exhaust, fmic, arc air box, 11psi, walbro.

202 hp and 205 ft/lbs

its a shame it doesnt have the afrs on there.

it seemed kinda low to me. i dont know. the car was run slightly lean for a couple of weeks and i hope that didn contribute to the low numbers

p/s yes. no a/c. i really thought that i would be a little higher than that. ive read that people have hit much higher than that running the same setup. but ive also seen lower as well. oh well, i got a new turbo at the house that i should hopefully be putting on soon here.

Looks about right to me. I have dynoed many an SR on a dynojet. Tune it and up the boost, and you should be able to get around 250whp

yea bro... thats the stock numbers dude... you really don't have anything done...

bolt on mods just help assist the motor... if you didn't have what you have the numbers would be lower.

This is why I dont see the point of going sr when you can build a reliable ka-t for around the same price as doing a complete sr swap, in the end you will probably have more power out of the ka-t and it can be just as reliable if built correctly. 202hp and 205ft/lbs sounds right to me. lol That would be more than enough for me.

If you turn the boost up your going to max out the t25 even more and your going to fall off on the top end even more.

Well, depending on your goals, and who you have to build it, this statement could be true. The problem is built motors are always a risk as I have seen more poorly built than good ones. Also, SR is just easier. Tons of parts, easy power, reliable well into the 300s. KAs also tend to have problems with abusive use like road racing when turboed

Not exactly true. It will drop off more relative to the peak, but the peak and drop off points will still be higher overall. If you run 15-17psi, you will get a massive increase in tq and hp, and depending on the health of the turbo and if you get an upgraded actuator, you can get the fall off point above his current 11psi. My last stock turbo setup with an HKS actuator and EBC made 1.2 bar (17psi) and dropped off to jsut under 1 bar (about 14psi) at redline. Made over 250whp. Switch to a T28, z32 maf, and bigger injectors, ad 300+ is obtainable.

yea i don't knock SR guys at all... got to many buddies for that... the KA-T was just fun for me to build and i tune it myself... so i have to seek no outside help... if your skills are lacking and you don't have the drive to learn.. the KA-T is not the route for the timid.

yeah it feels much better than the ka. i guess ka vs sr all goes down to prefrence. i like the way the sr feels alot more when im driving hard in the mountains. it revs much easier and likes higher rpms much more than the ka. but back to staying on topic.

I just wanted a baseline run before i put on the new goodies. hopefully by the end of next week ill have my GTiR turbo w/ s14 comp housing on, 550's, enthalapy tune, and the ichiba mani. thinking about some bc cams too but those can wait. hopefully ill be able to hit 280-300 with that setup.
