So what makes a 240 worth it?
So what makes a 240 worth it?
After reading all the the "why i own an s13/s14" and the "whats wrong with your car" threads, I'm kinda worried about buying a 240 now. Do they just like to fall apart on you or is it from the owner? 240's look and sound like fun cars but I don't want to have to be constantly replacing things. What makes them worth it?
Their awesome cars. Small problems come along with pretty much anycar you buy. But i can tell you after owning 3 cars rangin from Honda/Acura/Toyota my 240 is more realiable and better quality than any of my previous cars.
mer... i'd have to disagree a little... I've only owned one car though, which is an 89 prelude si... i'd ahve to say the prelude was much better as far as the quality of the car... such as interior and body and what not... but as far as engine goes, I love 240's... I'm looking at an 89 240sx, and it runs much stronger, easy to mantain, and parts aren't freakin expensive, like honda... but i'd have to say it's what you can make out of a 240sx... the aftermarket support is great compared to my old car... so i'm sure i'll love this car much more, and will have far less problems... honda's suck.
i've owned 3 accords, and now a 240. i never had problems with any of the cars. i don't buy american though. my brother had a duster that broke down at least once a month. then again, those cars suck!
but in general, ALL cars WILL have problems. it's pretty much common sense.

Hmmm if you think about it a 10 year old car...of course minor things will break down after time and wear it would go for any car, but damn RWD? i'd take that over any fron wheel drive car plus the 240's look more agressive (s13's) hope you find ur answer. (240's are also cheap and affordable to maintain)
just had to add that in.
just had to add that in.
every car will have there problems, thats like the godly rule of vehicles, anyhow 240's depending on what year your looking at are pretty old, my car is 14 years old already (1991 240sx) and frankly it still hits 90 like nothing, there engines are made top notch, plus RWD, not many of those today, unless your willing to spend more than maybe 10 grand for a new today model RWD cars these days (350z). the aftermarket support for the 240 is impressive enough, and if that aint great enough, specialty shops are now dealing with the SR20DET swap, so if the KA blows out, you can swap to a newer engine, it just goes on, plus once you own a 240sx, its just something about knowing its yours that kinda hits your pride in all the right places. welp thats my take on why its worth it. I love the 240 so much, I"m looking for another 240sx.
yeah any 10 year old car will need things replaced.. and every manufacturer and every car has a few common things among them that do break prematurely or need replacing.
haha as far as cheap to maintain? my nissan dealer wanted $130 for cap, rotor, plugs and wires... my integra cost me $80

As far as I know, Honda part are twice as expensive than other cars. The only thing I can say that is good about Hondas is that they are reliable. If I was going to go trough the desert in a vehicle, I would choose a Honda. But Lets add up price: A New 2000 Civic SI, about 8000? plus cat back exaust, intake, lets trow in a turbo and intercooler, maybe some pistons, head gasket, inyectors, pump, etc. It goes a woping 14.88 on the 1/4 mile, at a cost of 25K+. Now a 240 with a ka24de, Lets put in a gasket, exaust, and greedy turbo kit, maybe some pistons. about 10K to 11K if you now were to buy. go 13.4 at 356HP. Thats piece of mind. I know this because I saw both vehicles on a drag strip. And thats not to say that the 240 can go, way, way ,way faster than that.

I'm pretty lucky I guess
