can somebody tell me what is wrong with my 240? everytime i get to a stop light or when i am just in park with my car running, my car just shakes and idles hard then stalls. even when im in reverse, it never stalls as long as i push the gas though, but when my car is in park and stalls, i can smell gas. can somebody please tell me whats wrong and what can i do? thanx

 

check your fuel injectors, they maybe clogged, if they are change them.

Check your fuel filter, maybe clogged, if it is change it.

Fuel Pump maybe clogged also, but I doubt that.

Check all vacuam lines, make sure none is loose and hanging.

Thats what was wrong if my friends, and we changed all above, now it runs smooooooth.

my 91 did that right after i bought it. the idiot who sold it to me had 2 spark plug wires mixed up. it's a long shot but maybe check that out.

 

well i took my car to a mechanic today, and he sprayed some carbeurator (i know i misspelled) cleaner on the side of my engine and it made my car idle smooth. he said i have a leak in the intake manifold. so now i took my car to the idiots who rebuilt my engine. these guys who rebuilt my engine didnt even put some of the hoses on all the way, and they didnt even put my distributer cap on completely either. well hopefully it gets fixed by these idiots, if not i will be down there all the time if i have to, my 240 is my baby! thanx guys for the help.
